Start & end in Ulaanbaatar
Discover Mongolia’s lush green mountains, pristine rivers, ancient monasteries, alpine forests, nomadic culture, and hot springs.
Depart from your hotel in Ulaanbaatar after breakfast. Drive to Khustai National Park (approx. 2 hours). Explore the park and spot the reintroduced Przewalski’s horses (takhi) in their natural habitat. Enjoy a light hike through the rolling hills and observe wildlife such as gazelles and marmots. Overnight: Ger camp near Khustai.
After breakfast, drive to Elsen Tasarkhai (about 3 hours). This unique area combines steppe, sand dunes, and mountain scenery — often called the “mini Gobi.” Enjoy camel riding on the dunes and visit Erdene Khamba Monastery in the nearby Khugnu Tarna National Park. Overnight: Ger camp near Elsen Tasarkhai.
Continue to Kharkhorin, the 13th-century capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit Erdene Zuu Monastery and the Karakorum Museum, learning about the empire’s golden age. Evening at leisure by the Orkhon River. Overnight: Ger camp in Kharkhorin.
After breakfast, drive to the trailhead and hike up to Tuvkhun Monastery, one of Mongolia’s oldest meditation sites. After the visit, continue to Tsenkher Hot Springs, famous for its relaxing mineral waters. Soak in the natural hot pools and enjoy a peaceful evening. Overnight: Ger camp with hot spring baths.
Drive north through beautiful mountain passes to Jargalant soum in Khuvsgul Province. Enjoy the fresh air, nomadic landscapes, and a relaxing countryside evening. Overnight: Ger camp or local guesthouse in Jargalant.
Morning drive to Khuvsgul Lake, the “Blue Pearl of Mongolia.” Enjoy boating, horse riding, or hiking along the lakeshore. Relax in the peaceful natural setting. Overnight: Ger camp near Khuvsgul Lake.
Spend a full day exploring Khuvsgul National Park — visit a Tsaatan (reindeer herder) family, enjoy horseback riding, kayaking, or hiking. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire by the lake. Overnight: Ger camp near Khuvsgul Lake.
After breakfast, drive south to Uran Togoo–Tulga Natural Monument, an extinct volcano with a scenic crater. Take a short hike to the rim for panoramic views. Continue to Erdenet city, one of Mongolia’s largest towns known for its copper mine and culture. Overnight: Hotel in Erdenet.
Morning drive to Amarbayasgalant Monastery, one of Mongolia’s largest and most beautiful Buddhist monasteries, built in the 18th century. Explore the monastery complex, learn about its history, and enjoy peaceful mountain surroundings. After lunch, drive back to Ulaanbaatar (approx. 6–7 hours). End of Tour.
